Programme of Events for 2017

The Meeting on the 8th of September 2017 and all subsequent Meetings will be held in St. Michael’s Church, Mytholmroyd.

Doors open at 7pm, talks start at 7.30pm.

All talks and the two walks are free to Members. Visitors pay £3.00. Annual Membership £10.00.

Everyone welcome, just turn up on the night.

  • Saturday 12th August – Annual Excursion – This year we venture into Wales to the famous Pontesllytee Viaduct, near Ruabon, (you can walk across it on the towpath – high but no danger), Chirk Castle which was built some 800 years ago as one of a chain of castles across North Wales, now owned by the National Trust and Llangollen for tea. We aim to depart at 8.15am from Mytholmroyd Community Centre and plan to be back in Mytholmroyd about 8pm. Packed lunch and waterproofs advisable. Price for members £22.50; Non-Members £24.00. Please contact our treasurer, Julie Wild, to book a place. Phone either 884683 or 883284 to book your place. A £10 non-returnable deposit is required. – – THERE ARE STILL SOME SPARE SEATS AVAILABLE FOR THIS TRIP
  • 8th September – Triangle Mill Sisters – Ruth Beazley – This will be held in St. Michael’s Church, Mytholmroyd.
  • 20th October (NOTE THE DATE CHANGE) – Unlocking Probate Documents on the eve of The Industrial Revolution – Mike Crawford.
  • 10th November – Yorkshire Cabaret, Casinos and Glamour – Dave Russell.
  • 8th December – Annual General Meeting – Followed by Members’ Evening and refreshments.
  • Members have free membership of Hebden Bridge Local History Society Library.
