Mediaeval Route - Dark Lane

The text below, comes from Gwyneth Crawley, Project Manager, Civic Trust.
On Thursday March 24 we have the launch of the Civic Trust’s major project in the Minster at 2. 30 pm. I will be in charge of this as project leader, and I hope many of you will come!
I think it will be a very interesting afternoon. We’ll have members of the WG team telling their stories, with pictures, and at the interval our builder Nick will show what skills are needed to lay one sett. After the interval we will see the world premiere of the film we are making of the route, its importance, and its history..
The drone work was completed on Thursday morning in brilliant sunshine and we trace the mediaeval route from Dark Lane, Hipperholme through to Halifax Town Centre. We trace the mediaeval route through the town.. We are fortunate in having the expertise of Phil Fearnley,, who does the drone work for Gentleman Jack and Happy Valley as well as Countryfile and other prestigious TV and film series.
Phil is happy to support us in celebrating the town of his birth;, he loves Halifax, its people, its landscape and its history.
It will be an interesting afternoon. Our Spring newsletter will be available at no cost, our new Walker’s Guide is yours for one pound, (£1), and the Minster café will be open for refreshments at the interval. Donations to help us in our work will be gratefully received.
Do join us if you can.
